At the Fitness Loft, our belief is that fitness doesn’t just come from gutting out old-school weightlifting or pounding mile after mile of running. One of the coolest new fitness offerings we are in love with is Virtual Title Bout Boxing. This class is a boxing class with all the heart-pumping and muscle-blasting intensity of going toe-to-toe in the ring but without any black eyes or swollen knuckles. Of all the boxing classes in Columbus, Ohio, this is the safest and probably the most fun!


Virtual Sports


Nowadays, the e-sports revolution is taking hold all over the country. Most e-sports are usually played in large, comfy chairs with energy drinks at hand. But not all e-sports are console video games. Virtual reality technology has opened up a whole new arena for real-life exercise. From running along stunning vista views on the Pacific Coast Highway or boxing with realistic opponents in Virtual Title Bout Boxing to playing an intense full set of tennis at Wimbledon, virtual reality can enhance exercise in an all-new way.


If you’re looking for a boxing gym, Columbus is a great city for you. After a quick search for Columbus boxing, there will definitely be some great legendary gyms and trainers here in town. But, you might be more interested in a safe, supportive gym community like ours here at the Fitness loft, where Columbus boxing meets exciting virtual tournament-style competition without any bruises.


The Boxing Body


People everywhere agree that boxing is an incredible workout. Boxing combines intense aerobic exercise with constant anaerobic muscle engagement and quick-fire moves. It’s a perfect full-body workout. Because of the variability, it uses muscle confusion to keep your body recovering differently after every workout, which can increase muscle definition and metabolism.


Boxing creates a chiseled, resilient physique in its devotees. But, there’s also another not-so-great association with boxing. Swollen noses and ears, missing teeth and more serious conditions like traumatic brain injury are unfortunate side effects of the sweet science. We take all of these risks away and keep all the competitive fire and muscle-blasting exercise.


How Does it Work?


VBL, or Virtual Boxing League, is the software we use for this class. When you arrive, you’ll put a Virtual Reality headset on and use special sensors in your gloves or in your hands. What you’ll experience is a realistic fight like no other.


VBL uses advanced motion capture from real boxers to simulate the experience of fighting opponents with many different styles. Each boxing style utilizes different skills and muscle groups. The physics engine that governs how your virtual opponent reacts to your hits is the best in its class, creating a lifelike experience that immerses every one of our VBL clients.

This high intensity class includes cardio, resistance and body weight training, core work and stretching to deliver a total body workout that will have you pouring sweat in no time!
Step into a virtual archery dojo where you will loose arrows at holographic targets from your bow all while ducking, squatting, and dodging to avoid the projectiles they shoot back at you. You’ll feel like you’re in The Hunger Games! This 30 minute virtual archery combat simulation will test your accuracy, focus, reaction time, and agility. High to Very High Intensity.
Whether you are training for an upcoming race, or simply want a new way to get your cardio in and meet some new people, Run Club is for you. Our goal is to build a fun, interactive group to get out and run in the Community and local races (5K, 10k, and Half Marathon).
Set to electrifying beats, throw jabs, hooks, and uppercuts while squatting and lunging below obstacles in a futuristic training arena. This 30 minute virtual training course will test your coordination, accuracy, and speed. Moderate to High Intensity.

This frenzied soccer goalkeeping will require you to jump, lunge, and swat to defend your goal from the onslaught of soccer balls coming at you. This 30 minute experience will test your focus, agility, reaction time, and balance. Moderate to High Intensity.

In this futuristic racquetball court it’s you against the artificial intelligence as you’ll swing your paddles and hit the ball faster, harder, and more cunningly than it can. This 30 minute game of racquetball crossed with Pong will test your accuracy, power, and reaction time. Low to Moderate Intensity.
This flow class is based on the traditional vinyasa style, using breath and movement built strength, cultivate flexibility, and find focus. This moderately paced practice uses fundamental yoga poses and flows to provides a full body workout while stimulating the mind and spirit.

In this action hero shoot-em-up, you’re all that’s standing in the way between trained assassins and a jewelry store heist. You’ll be furiously squatting behind cover and lifting your guns to defend and attack if you want to survive. This 30 minute shoot out will test your accuracy and your stamina. Low to Moderate Intensity.

This 30-minute class provides a lower intensity introduction to the fun fitness alternative called virtual reality fitness. I'll guide you through all the basics of playing our games before trying it out yourself with two mini-workouts. In the first mini-workout you'll be a virtual fruit ninja and slice and dice a cornucopia of produce, and in the second mini-work, you'll punch the notes of one of your favorite songs -- just come equipped with an open mind and the name of a song you'd like to work out to.

This class has the same format as our ultra-popular Synrgy360 class, but is reserved for new members and first-time Synrgists. Learn the intricacies of the Synrgy machine while simultaneously getting a great workout.
