It seems like every week there is also a new workout craze that everyone is raving about and trying to get you to join. One week your friends are trying to get you to join CrossFit, the next your mom wants you to come to her Soul-Cycle class, and your neighbor now owns a Hot Yoga studio. New ways to workout are taking over our culture.  The next big thing in the workout community is BODYPUMP™. BODYPUMP™ is a new workout trend carefully created by experts that will change the way you look and feel. This new workout trend can be confusing, to break everything down here's a quick overview of the program. What is Bodypump?


BODYPUMP™ is a revolutionary strength training class. Crafted by leading fitness experts to revamp your body by building strength and endurance in major muscle groups. This intense calorie burning workout will tone your body throughout a 60-minute class. Throughout a typical workout, you’ll do squats, presses, lifts, and curls.


The class revolves around THE REP EFFECT™, a technique that works your muscles until they are fatigued. This result is obtainable with a combination of light weights and lots of repetitions. The goal is to work until absolute muscle failure, which is how most athletes build lean athletic muscle without adding on bulk.


The BODYPUMP™ program uses THE REP EFFECT™ in each workout consisting of controlling 70-100 repetitions per body part. Which equates to about 800 different movements in an average BODYPUMP™ workout session. Far more movements than a typical exercise session that most people are used to in the gym.

Calories Burned in BODYPUMP™


The results from a BODYPUMP™ workout can be astounding. Through the intense 60-minute workout, all of your muscles will engage at some point. In just one session, you’ll burn up to 540 calories! To put this into perspective, the average person burns about 398 calories while using a stationary bike. In BODYPUMP™ you’ll burn more calories in one hour than it takes peddling on a boring stationary bike. Put another way; if you were to go dancing with your friends on a Saturday night for an hour, you'd only burn 443 calories per hour. BODYPUMP™ is unlike any other workout activity that you are familiar with doing.  Even if you are an extreme athlete or adventure seeker, one hour of rock climbing burns only 454 calories per hour. BODYPUMP™ is an engaging and interactive workout that not only makes time fly by but also makes your calories burn right off. Burn calories, get tone, improve your endurance and have fun.
